Swimming pool covers come in many different types. Some covers proceed across the pool and are held in place with a set of parallel paths while others only float on the surface.

You will find automatic pool covers and guide covers. Earlier this can be answered we will need to further share the available kinds. Some are more acceptable for thermal programs; others are created for winter wear and others are intended for safety. 

Some have incorporated each of these properties into a single product to a degree.

Thermal blankets – These covers only float on the pool and are designed purely as a heating help. They're able to have a hand cranked roller machine at the same end of the pool to get easier removal. 

These covers are best in heating the pool but do little else. They're even marginally harmful if small children are present due to the entrapment hazard.

Simple covers – This is any non-permeable barrier within the swimming pool. While they perform well at retaining the debris from the pool during the summer time, they could become a danger if any standing water isn't removed as it collects. During a heavy snow or rain these covers are proven to have pulled to the pool from the surface .

Mesh covers – All these covers are intended for winter usage.  Following a pool is winterized, the swimming is generally drained down beneath the return lines that are then dismissed and emptied. Any rain or snowmelt through the off season drains to the pool.
